About

Hi! I'm Jennifer
I'm a Jesus-loving wife and mother of 2, born, raised and currently living in the Midwest. I've been married to my best friend, Curt, since 1997, a mom since 2001, a stay-at-home mom since 2004 and a homeschooling mom since 2015. I have a degree in Psychology and in my former life, I worked in a variety of social service settings: health education, long-term care, and school counseling. I decided to write a blog to share our unique journey as a homeschooling/public schooling family. I hope to not only connect with you personally but also to be able to give you some information that will help you as you navigate some of the same waters.
Our Christian faith is a driving force in everything that we do and so most of my posts will probably reflect that. I've decided to incorporate a Bible verse that goes along with every blog post because looking up scripture is typically how I first dig into a problem. I hope that you can gain inspiration from my posts and the verses I share.

I know there are a lot of blogs about homeschooling but I feel like our journey has been a little out of the ordinary because we aren't just a homeschooling family. Our son, who is 12, has been homeschooled since 2015 but our 17-year old daughter chose to stay in public school. While the majority of my blogs will be focused on our homeschool journey, I will also share some of our unique challenges and opportunities we've had trying to balance a homeschool & public school life.
I am taking a relational approach to my blog. I am in no way a homeschool guru, I just want to share our stories with you and let you know what we've done; what has worked and what hasn't. My hope is that you can glean some useful information from our journey that you can use in charting your own path.
I would love for you to subscribe to my blog and please feel free to comment or email me about questions you have or to suggest topics you would like for me to write about.

Thank you for joining me on this new adventure!
Jen
